Oli suggested re-drawing it myself in layout pad, to make it my own
Draw influence from characteristics and develop own typeface (e.g: line across top, varying thickness in letterforms, curved style)
Collected more related imagery for each chosen perfume name (in research file), like a visual brainstorm.
For example:
Poison - poison ivy, skull & crossbones, poison apple - fairytale connotations, danger, dripping typeface, gothic typeface (fairytale reference)
Woodsmoke - pattern in rising smoke, flames, woodgrain, charred typeface
Sari - Bollywood posters, sari textile design
Wild Flower - bright flowers, leopard print (wild element - implicit), feminine
Paris - Chanel infuence - houndstooth pattern, pearly colours, red lipstick - chic, eiffel tower (too explicit?), Art Deco typefaces (Metro signage), champagne tones, beige (like parisian mac)
Surfs Up - waves, turquoises, sand, exotic plants and flowers, surf brand logos
Monsoon - eroded typefaces - destruction, stormy skies, clouds, raindrops
Dirty Blues - Blue Note records design, neon signs (jazz clubs), gritty, blue
